"I call Adobe Photoshop

'The Beast' because it's the

most intimidating program

to learn and master on your own."

– Stacy Schilling,
Visual Design Expert

I started using Photoshop over 20 years ago when it was a stand-alone program. Throughout my career, I've used Photoshop for almost every design project when I worked with Disney, The NBC Agency/NBCUniversal and UCLA.

For the past 10 years, I've taught all levels of students and professionals how to use Photoshop through private lessons.

My philosophy is that you need to learn the basics before diving straight into the program and expect to work at lightening speed. It's okay to work slowly and ask for help with a program you don't know.

Many students have come to me in a panic wanting to be proficient in Photoshop, after just one lesson. That's not realistic.

Honestly, it takes approximately 10-12 hours just to go through the dialogue box, the Preferences, all the drop down menus and tool bar to become familiar with the program. When you start with the basics in a new program, it makes it easier to learn and understand how to use it.

That's why I've created video on-demand lessons that build on each other. Several lessons also contain material from a previous one. The video on-demand format makes it easy for you to learn at your own pace so you can stop and replay the video as often as you need to. There's also activities after each lesson for you to review and practice using the program.

But if you have specific questions that can't be answered in a video, you can reach out to me for private lessons.

“Stacy was patient and took her time teaching me the entire program at a pace that worked for me. She never rushed through the lessons and always reviewed previous lessons to make sure

I understand what I was learning before we moved onto something new. Since working with Stacy, I have become more confident

in what I'm doing and I would recommend Stacy to anyone

who is looking for a patient tutor."
